The Importance of Family Time During Christmas
It is this time of the year again when chaos starts and we are rushing madly to finish what is on our Christmas list. Shopping for gifts and food and wondering whether we are over indulging our children or giving them less than we should.
Flash news for you!!!
Christmas isn’t about materialistic things and gift giving.
Christmas is about the gift of family. The gift of love and spending quality time with your loved ones. Snuggling together under a warm blanket, watching the lights twinkling on the tree while sipping hot chocolate, or playing silly games together. Christmas is about visiting grandparents, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. It is about remembering those members of your family that you rarely see.
I consider my loving family the best gift that lasts forever. Christmas celebrations in our family are always extravagant and not to be missed. My sisters and their families, my children and their wives, all fly in to spend the holidays together. Family members gathering together over a meal are gifts that make the holidays so joyful and memorable. These connections give the season that warm, loving feeling that everyone looks forward to during Christmas.
Family is the most important gift because they are the ones that know everything about you and accept you exactly as you are regardless of your mistakes and blunders. They always love you unconditionally, have your back and support you fully no matter what.
Not everyone has the pleasure of being with their family for the holidays. If you are lonely or stressed around the holidays, your family encouragement is what you mostly need so connect with them. If you are among the lucky ones and can be close to your family then be grateful and cherish these valuable opportunities, they may not last for long.
Family gatherings give children positive experiences, they teach them about compassion and sharing. They provide a stable environment to connect with others. They play a large important part in creating a happy life for us all.
Families that are close and spend time together build solid relationships. They respect one another and look out for each other. They are able to cope with adversities and family crisis more effectively. Everyone goes through difficult times with their families, but when the bond is strong whenever there is a need they come together with encouragement, love and support.
